I personally love this as I really like everything about her, her music and especially HER STYLE. I think if anyone really rocked that whole western meets tropical vibe and made it a little more mainstream then it is her. From 2005 when she first broke out onto the scene she has still managed to maintain that signiture colourful and tribal essence and just evolve it all the way to 2010. Her urban casuality in the form of oversized tshirts, hoodies and leggings have made this look wearable for the masses. Have a look at this old video she released when she first came out....you got to love multiple outfit changes!
I have had the pleasure of seeing her a few times just out and about in London, live at the Reading Festival and when I was in Brooklyn a few years back and she dresses so fearlessly even when just roaming the streets. Her stage costumes always impress with masses of neon, metallic spandex and the odd feather now and then. She is an ultimate performer, putting on a show in every sense, not just audible with the fantastic beats, samples and politically infused lyrics but visually stimulates too.
I will end with a few images that pretty much represent her style and cover her many years out as a popular performer (images: Google images.) There is no doubt that Miss M.I.A would be an awesome model for The Bamboo District...we can always dream.
