The Ethical Fashion Forum is a fantastic network that link suppliers, production houses, designers and stores that all come under the umbrella of Ethical Fashion. With a rich database of poeple connected to the network it gives spotlight tho these companies in the hopes to spread awareness of the products out there. Joining the network gives you access to pictures, videos and blogs all regarding to the latest of what is going on the industry, and there is so much!
When visiting www.ethicalfashionforum.com you can sign up to visit events put on to promote this even more so, whether it be talks or work shops. Attached to the forum is also a Magazine that will be sent out to members and also a yearly EXPO, which I went to recently...
The Expo is a great chance for ethical suppliers, designers and factories to come together under one roof and network. This was a great chance to see the chain of the industry and see what exactly was included with it all.
The talk was great on many levels, it included three powerful South American women who were running successful brands, one in Columbian Jewellery, Wool products based in the Andes and also a a women's network that helped educate entrepeneurs in developing their brands.
What I found inspiring and ecouraging is that there is a huge demand now for these products. T Shirt lines were able to put restrictions on to who they sold their shirts too if they knew that the consumer was not going to use eco friendly inks to screen print with. There was also a designers section which showcased the bigger names in the industry, and it was cool seeing these brands that I too have seen in more mainstream media, such as Style.com and Elle Magazine.
If this is your kind of thing i would urge everyone to join this network, you get som much information on the site and they regularly update you sending emails that are really useful. i can't wait for next years Expo, hopefully buy then I can use it for more ways of furthering Bamboo as a business.
