Celebrating getting older by acting younger
Usually people only visit Walt Disney Studio Park as part of a two parks in one day kinda thing as though smaller and waaay less to see than the main park it is the same price to enter if you are only doing one park in one day ticket. There aren't as many roller coasters, super huge rides, and opportunities to see characters but for me the highlights were the Studio bus tours (the special effect were WOAH), the Tower of Terror and the 3D Ratatouille experience (AMAZING). We went on a Thursday thinking all the French babies would be in school and to our surprise (and dismay) it was a public holiday and EVERYONE was out in full force. There was LOTS of queuing. After doing all the good ones we called it a day by 8pm and went to our hotel which had a free shuttle service from the parks. It was super convenient. We later had dinner at the hotel and rested up ready to taken on the main Park the next day.
After walking down Main St and turning the corner I saw the beautiful and wonderful Sleeping Beauty's Castle. Not to sound like a totally queso ball but my heart leapt with joy as soon as I gazed upon it...Disney really is magic. Ahh, now...The Disney Characters. When I was a wee lass I went to Disney in Florida and remember the characters walking about to take photos with but with modern day selfies and kooks they have sections in the park where you queue to see prominent Disney characters. I wanted to see the Princesses but the wait was 70mins and though I toyed with the idea of waiting I soon realised that was actually crazy. HOWEVER...we stumbled upon the perfect spot to catch the Spring Parade and all the classics came to say hi, Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Donald and Daisy! |
CHECK if it is a public holiday (fail)
Download the park app that tells you the waiting times for each ride
Pack a lunch and a bunch o snacks
Make the most of the Fast Pass at the big rides, they really do help
Take in one or some of the shows, it's a nice break from being on your feet
Though expensive, buy something from the gift shop. It's a fun souvenir you will love forever!
