1 PENSIONER + 1 DISPOSABLE CAMERA = ....
Standing in front of one particular painting I got to thinking about my Dad. I know I am not the first Daddy's girl out there but I feel such a great esteem towards him. He's many things, things he expresses more than others but one thing he is but doesn't exercise enough is his creativity. Over the years I caught these glimmers through the doodles he sketched, my police woman badge he made me when I was around 5 (It's the cutest thing ever), stories from his sisters, his awesome dress sense when he first came to this country and the family photos he took of us growing up. He isn't the most chattiest of guys either so though I know my Dad generally I still find him a mystery. For one reason or another I had the idea of arming him with a disposable camera and getting him to take photos of whatever he wanted. What I wanted to get out if it I am not too sure. He was sceptical at first, complaining to my Mum why I had asked him to do it but after he figured out how the camera worked and Mum encouraging him I think he really got into it. It was a change from the lame photo pics he is forced to take of us at family parties.
