The Art of Agathe and Lorraine Sorlet
The two sisters have had their work featured in publications such as the New York Times, etched on products and sold in popular galleries in Paris.
The Art of Agathe and Lorraine SorletI follow an amazing Instagram account called Women with pencils and it is where I discovered the illustration work of Agathe Sorlet. I was drawn to the minimalism of her work, depicting touching sentiments of love, attraction, encouragement and friendship. Her use of colour is confined to usually three, or maximum four colours and it is this simplistic style that really resonated with me. It is bold but also soft. It is through following her work did I also discover her sister Lorraine is also an artist. There is definitely a similarity but the difference is visible, and again, the content of the images are of everyday interactions and encounters but have a different breath to them.
