Serve the curve

For me when it comes to beauty and style, in the words of Lil Kim it's all about those 'Chicks by the layers, all different flavours', and by that I also mean shapes and sizes too.  This is also why I freakin love the internet, and blogs and fashion and beauty sites as it makes content that is based globally, so much easier for you to access.  Recently I have been looking and creeping at sites consciously celebrating the style and beauty of girls with curves.  I know it is quite a topical  subject in 'fashion' and I even wrote an early post maybe a year back showing V magazine's dedicated spread and curvy versus skinny article, this however is not a 'this size is better than that size' post but a much needed selection and exposure of the amazing content I have been seeing.  Without getting into the debate of the modelling industry and the changing of average sizes of women over the past 100 years, all I can offer up is this 'Modern mainstream content in regards to fashion and beauty does not recognize or cater for the majority of women', but hooray for niche sites and independent blogs for not being constrained by this and producing other sources for you to get your fix....
....there are the personal style blogs...

Did we even know that they had a whole section on their official website dedicated to the curve?  Though in a perfect world it wouldn't be separate but for now this is still a big deal!

Printed publications are now featuring more real size/plus size models in their editorials with Vogue Australia featuring their first girl in 2011, also Model Chrystal Renn and her ever changing size (but never to a standard model) being featured relentlessly and the new girl on the block Tara Lynn infiltrating the mainstream pages of magazines.

Some people just love relating to people similar to them and that is why a representation of all types of people need to be featured especially if they are to promote subjective views such as style and beauty.  I know as a short girl with a booty it's nice to see things styled and made pretty in my size as it does ultimately make me think "Oooh, I can totally do that too".
