V Magazine published a Plus Size/Regualr size model issue a while back. Always up for a bit of controversy and pushing the boundaries of fashion, beauty and culture they orchestrated an editorial shoot featuring two models, one of regular model proportions and the other, with 'plus size' proportions. The two models, 19 year old Jacquelin Jablonski and my favourite 23 Crystal Renn were pitted side by side in the same outfit, both striking similar poses in the hopes to portray that clothes and outfits can look good on any size, and it does not purely have to rely or depend on super thin models to make the clothes look good...
Sorry for the lack of posts recently... However, lack of posts mean I have been busy so more to report on! Before I do I just want to encourage all the UK residents to REGISTER TO VOTE. If you want to have you say and take part in this year's General Election you need to be registered on their system to do so, you can't just rock up to your local polling Station on the Thursday 6th of May and cast your vote. Please do not waste this chance to contribute to how the country is run. Take some time to read and consider all the Policies each party is bringing forward. Hopefully this will encourage you to get on it! You can register to Vote by visiting: www.aboutmyvote.co.uk Though not the only ones to consider but below are links to the main 3 Parties in the Election, you will be able to view their policies on their sites:
THE LABOUR PARTY www.labour.org.uk THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY www.conservatives.com/ THE LIBERAL DEMOCRAT PARTY www.libdems.org.uk I had dinner with my lovely Japanese friends, Nobuko and Akio. We ate in a lovely place near Chancery Lane where I had sushi and other bits of traditional Japanese cuisine. Japanese food is hands down my favourite food and no one can deny how awesomely creative and out there the Japanese are as a nation. Their fashion is insane, from Harijuku girls to the Tokyo punks, and also more high fashion designers like Kenzo and Issey Miyake. In every creative industry you are able to find a strong presence of the Japanese, whether in design, hair and make up. Their hand in the technology game is so far beyond so many other nations and things featured on websites like 'japanisweird.com' presently, will probably be the next new Christmas trend in 3 years time.So let's give it up for the Japan for all the amazing things that have rooted from there. Tekeshi's castle, TEKESHI KANISHIRO, Tamagotchi's and generally ALL things super cute. Oh, and we can't forget about Hello Kitty. Definately not :) Enjoy a BBC doc on Japanese fashion... |
