Lame title to a blog post I know, I apologize. However I was trying to find something to convey the substance attached to the work of Parisian artist 'JR', and that his work isn't just your plain and standard visual offering. The more I read about him and consumed all his work via, photos, videos and articles the more my heart danced and my stomach pulsed. What an affect that is, but it is all true. The thing is, behind every image and every exhibition, there is a point, there is a cause...and that is what is inspiring.

The Human Rights Watch Film Festival is hitting London next week and now is the time to start booking your tickets. Having seen the UK Premier of Crude two years ago there, (a film about Chevron(Texaco) and their contribution to polluting the Ecuadorian water systems, causing sicknesses and cancers) I do urge you to catch a viewing of one of the many films showing, spreading over numerous subject matters and social injustice issues. Two that I have already booked to see is 'A small Act' which I put the trailer of it above, and the second is a documentary called 'Lost Angels' depicting the lives of the LA homeless, where in Los Angeles you find the greatest number of homless living on the streets in the western world. This one I am looking forward too the most as first hand I have seen, the issue of homlessness in LA on a recent trip where groups of people congragate the streets and even post up tents on the sidewalk. However, one thing that touched my heart is actually how friendly some were to us and came and chatted to us when we were getting into my friends apartment, and warmed us with a smile everytime we came and left their building.
Listings and tickets can be found on this website: http://www.hrw.org/en/iff/london , and if you are not from London UK, no need to fret as the festival screens world wide, and listings for that can be found on the link too. Perks of working at an ad agency, you get to see many creative campaigns. Just from the sites we tend to visit at work I came across these amazing ads from Design agency, Moma Propaganda. They created ad campaigns for Social Networking sites Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Skype using 50s style illustration and editorial.
Advert for Google in Japan. I think it's Genius, from the people ar w+k advertising.
So I came across this video on the Johnny Cupcakes blog of all places and it really made me smile. Meet Ted, a man overcome with Alcohol and drug abuse which then resulted in homelesses and pan handling. In all of this Ted knew he was given a gift from God and in the end was thing that would give him a second chance in life to live a successful life. What I love most about him is his acknowledgement of God in all the good things, and his humilty. Watch the video and be happy that lives can turn around. I know last year I posted about Art documentary 'Beautiful Losers' which showed the world of the top Skater/Artists and the world they lived in. Well, Ad company Wieden and Kennedy have a creative entertainment section on their site featuring independent content, short films and shows. The producers of Beautiful Losers and now behind a series called 'D.I.Y America', short clips following and exploring the world of Street and Skate art.
