Photo: by Mr Pinyata Design: The Bamboo District You know those moments of self awareness, a realization of your habits and character? Well this particular one of mine I have known about for some time now but it isn't until I saw it all in visual form that makes me see how funny it all is. You see everyone, My name is Natalie and...I AM A FOODAHOLIC. Feel free to ask me on foodie dates. I would totally go. Seriously.
Image: Tim Walker Design: The Bamboo District I have been meaning to post this for an 'Envy' for some time now, Undeniable how beautiful these photos are. Just perfect in every way. This is a good example of fashion collaborating with other industries as I am now sure the amount of people now wanting to visit Mongolia has increased.
Image: Here Design: The Bamboo District For me when it comes to beauty and style, in the words of Lil Kim it's all about those 'Chicks by the layers, all different flavours', and by that I also mean shapes and sizes too. This is also why I freakin love the internet, and blogs and fashion and beauty sites as it makes content that is based globally, so much easier for you to access. Recently I have been looking and creeping at sites consciously celebrating the style and beauty of girls with curves. I know it is quite a topical subject in 'fashion' and I even wrote an early post maybe a year back showing V magazine's dedicated spread and curvy versus skinny article, this however is not a 'this size is better than that size' post but a much needed selection and exposure of the amazing content I have been seeing. Without getting into the debate of the modelling industry and the changing of average sizes of women over the past 100 years, all I can offer up is this 'Modern mainstream content in regards to fashion and beauty does not recognize or cater for the majority of women', but hooray for niche sites and independent blogs for not being constrained by this and producing other sources for you to get your fix....
I've joined Tumblr and added a link to it at the top of the site. This is just a scrap book of images I like and maybe more everyday life photos from team Bamboo. it is called The Bamboo Daily! I am still working it out a little but if you are on it too let me know!
Design: The Bamboo District Image: Here This is the second of the series I coined 'Can I be like you?' where I highlight some of the women (for now, maybe men if they are extra super awesome) who I admire. The first one was on the amazingly talented video director Melina Matsoukas who was responsible for video hits for Rihanna and Beyonce. This post is featuring the super amazingly multi skilled, business fashion mommy extraordinaire Miss Sharmadean Reid. And this is why I find her totally brilliant...
