The words of Madonna do not play true in my new favourite game that I was recently introduced too. Powering through he manic floors of Topshop Oxford street with a mission needing to be completed, with 15 minutes only to create something that would induce the most laughter. I refer to 'The Ugly Outfit' game. Myself, Jo and Kirsty scuttled through the rails to compose the utimate failure of an outfit, then swap them for each of us to try on. The level of unattractive can vary and work on so many ways. From the Garish to the tackiest, to the most hideous but still most wearable for certain parts of the population...we had it all. My highlight and equal most traumatic portion of the event was trying on and then later taking off a pair of rubber cycling shorts. RUBBER BLUE CYCLING SHORTS. Enjoy the snaps. And the dress trouser situation...Dudley Christmas office Party anyone? Anyone? Anybody know more funny games?
Sometimes life takes you on funny journeys, you experience different things, add to the memories...This past week has been just that. Over the 14th-15th I had the pleasure and honour of helping out at a Christian Student event called Passion held in the Wembley Arena. It is an awesome movement that is designed for Uni age kids, and their Youth Leaders to help them realise their power and potential in Knowing Christ. Over the two days artists such as Matt Redman, Dave Crowder band and Chris Tomlin performed and great speakers like Louie Giglio and Francis Chan spoke too. Personally as a young Christian it was such a great event, super encouraging and inspiring. It was great seeing so many young people from different Churches too coming together. The music was great too, Check out some of the artists mentioned above if you haven't heard of the them already! If you have time check out their Website, they will probably be visiting a city near you, or where someone you know may live: http://www.268generation.com/ While I was there I got to see how much goes into preparing events suchs as these, and as the set up was more or less like any other gig for any type of artist has made me see things slightly in a different light. Things included car runs to pick up guests from hotels, filling up the cars with gas, trips to Asda and Ikea for hospitaity areas, setting up lamps and food in the green room, loading and unloading equipment into Vans and even folding Tshirts in the Merch areas. You can see that a lot of money goes into making this all happen too, but it was great as for this one we had so many volunteers from the drivers, to the hosts on the doors. Here are some pics to set the scene! Enjoy! 1) Wembley Arena
