What a bloomin' fun party! Last week I attended a friend's wedding reception at Kensal Green's Paradise which was an amazing venue to celebrate in. My friend Keisuke married the beautiful Aya in a Dior suit (swoon) and she wore a lovely Vintage looking dress. The both made a stunning pair. I know Kei from my time working at Windle and Moodie hair salon, he is a brilliant hair stylist and has worked on so many Fashion shows and shoots...the same as his wife Aya! It was a fantastic reunion for many of us who for most all now work elsewhere but when we get together it is ever the same, full of fun! We danced and partied, laughed and sang so much kareoke I lost my voice for 2 hrs. Here are just some of the pics from the night, it was totally worth staying up late on a school night!
Again to Kei and Aya, Congratulations! This editorial is so hard. Props to Photographer Gan for capturing such great images of these Asians beauts in the up and coming fall/winter wears. The styling is edgy and sleek, the models gorgeous and the setting/props genius. Now if someone wants to make a film with all these ingredients I will be the first to watch it!
All photos by The Bamboo District I have managed to post up some pics at work while lappy is resting. Whoop! This past summer I was NOT immune to Olympic fever, I loaded iplayer on my computer everyday to catch up with the games, hung out with the Mexican's as they swiftly made it through to the final then won the Men's football event and to top it all off I was blessed with a ticket to see the Women's Basketball final. I used to play 'ball' when I was in High School and University and it inspired me to attempt to play more, team USA smashed it so hard it was embarrassing and inspirational. I love sport. I love fashion, and pop culture etc but I have always loved to be active and when there are periods where I haven't been to the gym or even for a run I feel it. Overall health is top priority and I think the Olympics helped showcase some real talent who work hard and achieve such great things. Plus there were so many girl and boy babes it made it extra enjoyable for all I am sure. Did any of you peeps see any events? What were your faves? Let me know!
Photo from here This is the worst. Ugh. However my trusty HP beast of a lappy had been with me since university (so long ago) and had been kind to me through all the abuse of viruses, drops and melted chocolate between the keys. He does still have a little life but as you would not make your 80yr old Grandpa help you move boxes up 6 flights of stairs to your new flat, I now can't force Hewie (lappy's name) to deal with all my heavy MB transfers, pixel rendering and file storage. That said, there might be some delays of photo heavy original posts etc but hopefully I will have my new one with me in a few weeks. Guys and Girls, I'm going apple! Eeek.
Hot couple alert in the form of He met Her. A super cute electro pop duo who released their EP Crime Novela this May. I first peeked them when I saw a cool photo of them and thought 'who is this mega styling United Colours of Benetton couple?!' After some Googlage I saw they were musicians and their tunes are GOOD! 80s/Pop/Electro all the good stuff. I also love their promo material and their EP website which showcases their songs and perfect fashion sense. I swoon at this multimedia cocktail!
Have a look at their video for their song 'Control', or click to their EP page for more songs and a GIF treat. Pics: Nasty Gal Simple but bold and most importantly, wearable...well maybe not the banded bikini. I am basically loving everything about this Nasty Gal July Lookbook right now. The backdrop, the colours, the clothes and the models are all lush. This is a superb example of how 'commerical' can also be 'cool'.
