Just came back from an amazing weekend in Edinburgh, Scotland. It has beautiful architecture, rich in history and good places to drink some Whisky. More photos to follow but for now here are some bagpipes!

Photos via wearesodroee Slicked back hair, braided ponytails, multiple denim, crop tops and GOLD HOOPS! And least could I forget...THICK EYEBROWS. Ugh, this editorial is perfection on numerous levels. Taken from Vogue China's February 2013 issue we see Model Sui He donning everyone's favourite material... DENIM! From high waisted trousers, wide flare pants, crops tops and shirts we are shown that you can never overdo the blue stuff. Pulled together with late 80s & 90s style elements such as oversized blazers, gold hoops and waist chains the complete look is still so relevant for today's fashion fox. This lovely editorial was shot by photographer Lachlan Bailey.

Whether I win or lose I just want to say thank you all so much for supporting me and my blog, it really means a lot. I enjoy posting here and I am happy that many of you enjoy browsing around sharing in my brain spill. In the words of my brown town peeps of the Philippines, Maraming Salamat! x Something tells me there is a huge common denominator in my wardrobe...can't get enough of the stuff!
Blonde Asians, the concept in itself has been a no no no for us originated in the Far East. Attempts by many leave hair looking orange, damaged and just plain tacky. However, more and more I have seen on the web are the RARE (and I mean rare) few who manage to somewhat pull it off. It may just be that the stars have aligned for these girls giving them the perfect creamy yellow complexion, fine hair and that grungy cool vibe that undoubtedly you need to pull it off. Maintaining these locks I can assure will be such a pain, but guaranteeing you will stand out if it is perfect. Platinum is the only shade that will do in my opinion, extreme platinum with maybe some nice lavender and candy floss toner for an extra punch. If you are a babe from the orient and attempt this, once you spot green tones or yellow streaks just turn back...no one will blame you. Photos via Pinterest: Blonde Asian
I have been working on some Menswear content for a project and it led to me realize that boys are quite trend led too. Maybe not so much as women but enough for me to be able to group some style aesthetics into style tribes. We have the thin rock and rollers, the laid back simplicity types, those who like street wear and weirdly enough it is now stylish to look like a fisherman! Let me introduce to you my boys. We all know a Fred...well maybe. The guy you 50% admire and 50% roll your eyes at as they are so involved with their 'look' but undeniably always looks amazing. They are the model off the runway, try all the adventurous looks and look like walking pieces of art. With all the adoration they also look a little high maintenance but I think to dress like this you need the attitude to match! Oh Carl! Bonjour to you! Carl is the older girl's crush. He dresses with simplicity that it exudes confidence. Like the foreign love interest in American films when girls spend their summer in Europe. They look casual but take a gander at their clothes labels and they will be from top designers and from cool chic boutiques. I bet he would also smell amazing. Carl is quite sexy, but Carl knows it too. Stevie boy!!! Stevie...loves music, loves sports, loves graphics and is trying with all his might, no matter how old he grows to represent this in his look. Mixing classic pieces like skinny jeans, buttoned up shirts, sweaters with sporty extras like baseball caps and cool trainers is what epitomizes the look. Steve loves colour, Steve likes prints most of all Steve loves exclusive releases; the rarer the item the better! Oscar, Oh Oscar. Oscar is artistic on some level. Boutique shop owner, designer, music links etc but Oscar also loves to look like he works in the dirt of nature, though may have never touched soil before in his life. Fisherman double denims like Richard Dreyfuss in Jaws are totally raging or lumber jack shirts and boots are the staples to make this look work. Oscar, though his look is quite directional, is also finding there are more of him around than he originally thought.
What does a girl do when she comes across a Fashion Film directed by Wes Anderson! Yelp in happiness of course. The King
of quirky cinema and delicious visuals has teamed up with Roman Coppola to make these short films for Prada and their new scent CANDY. The basis of the story-lines centers on 'Candy' played by French Actress/Model Léa Seydoux and her two male suitors. The three films showcases the beginning of their relationships, a week later and then a month later. This french new wave style of cinema really suits the aesthetic of Wes Anderson and begs to think what gorgeousness he could produce if he chose to work on a full length project in this direction. However, for now I will just continue to press play, and watch this repeatedly. Photos by AINGERU ZORITA for Babyghost via FGR Here are four simple photos from Babyghost's Spring 13 campaign, and they nicely represent the feminine sporty vibe of their collection. Model Xiao Wen Ju is the perfect canvas with her fresh face and sultriness. This to me is summed up with the following; Pretty Cool.
I opened my Facebook and up popped a message from a friend saying she nominated me for a Magazine blogger award. I was touched, and was curious so I looked it up and decided to ask you all to vote for me too! Company Magazine are having their 2013 Style Blogger awards and have different categories where you can vote for your faves.
I have decided to ask you all to vote The Bamboo District for the 'BEST DESIGNED BLOG'award. There were personal style, and fashion specific sections but I like to think the mix of visuals of my blog along with my mixed content lends itself to this category more. If you click the image above it will lead you straight to the voting page. If you do end up voting me, THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT! |
