"Great skirt! We're intrigued by this glasses-making aunt, too. Miss Fabello looks like she's the star in the story of her life-not everyone can say that." -London Lite 2009 Bahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. My friend Jere sent me this picture of when I was in the free paper in the street style section in 2009. No quite a Sartorialist moment but at least my Aunt got a mention for my bins which three years on I am wearing even as I type this post out. What a gammy smile I have too. I do envy the fact that I am wearing no tights though, and I miss those shoes!

With the dynamic Hong Kong streets as the backdrop this editorial embraces the luxurious fashion power of the East. Shot by James Meakin and styled by Alexandra Fullerton, the results are timeless images of a timeless land.
London Town is currently whipped in a frenzy! That is if you are interested in Fashion because... tis Fashion Week! The week where Street Style bloggers go nuts, my hairdresser friends post numerous pictures of the styles they are working on backstage and also a time where the high street is filled with some cool discounts. Whoop. I am not shy to say that the Feb/March offerings are not my favorite this summer girl likes summer clothes but there are the rare little gems that do pop up that make my eyes widen. Browsing casually I have found two shows from New York and London that have inspired a direction that I may take my winter outfit's in. NYC: The Collection above brought to us by BCGB Max Azria is kinda great. Flowing layers toughed out with leather, it is a perfect amalgamation of pretty and cool. It is winter's boho chic but importantly it looks warm. As one who loves a patterned print it is nice to see a mature print muted with the knit and outerwear in their block colours. Styled perfectly with long locks and a beanie this collection is ready to walk off the runway and straight on to the streets and papped by style bloggers everywhere. London: Paul Smith's latest collection for Autumn and Winter is what I dream my working wardrobe would look like. Firstly the colour palette is perfectly vibrant, but not garish which makes it seasonal appropriate but not hidden in a sea of Black and Gray. To me this collection is 50% feminine and 50% masculine and this perfect proportion is what makes this very special. The shorter pieces are edgy, the trouser combinations are in pretty hues. Accessories including classic footwear in loafers and Chelsea boots tie it all in adding that chicness that you can only find in London Town.
ALL Catwalk Images via Style.com . Post design by The Bamboo District Photo Free People via FGR Who is in the mood for LOVE? The clothing brand Free People surely are. With Valentine's day tomorrow I thought I would share this amazing editorial of their new collection. Free People are the hippy girl to Nasty Gals sassy girl, with lace dresses, flowing jersey and sun dresses making most of their collection. This shoot is no ordinary girl on film moment as the model share her frames with HBO's Girls actor Christopher Abbot (*swoon*). As part of their campaign their romantic video 'Roshambo' has been making the rounds pre youtube clips. You know the kind, the ads that annoyingly play before your chosen video then you 'skip after 5 seconds', well when this clip plays, people continue watching. Have a watch (video below) and let me know what you think! I personally really like it, maybe this is the start of change for fashion videos everywhere. THE VIDEO I literally saturated all forms of Social Media wishing this guy a happy birthday but the day is here and my Pop turns Sixty One, and he deserves his own post. My Father is pretty cool, not because of anything surface cool, but because of his character of always being supportive and helpful. The thing is that my Pop will always ensure that you will never have to suffer alone, in anything big or small. He is like that with our family but even with our friends too, and even with people that you think may not deserve it. Growing up he was the one who had to look after us most of the time out of school hours when my mum worked nights and weekends even though he worked long hours himself. He made it fun. I really appreciate him and think there are so many qualities that he possesses that if I do not see that in other people then I think they are lacking. Though my dad is funny, sweet and caring what I also like is that he detects BS straight away, and when people talk about 'Real Talk' he IS real talk. Tells things straight and doesn't beat around the bush.
So Papa, Happy Birthday. You may never read this but this is for you, and the fact that I want to show you off to you world. x Still from Nick Knight's Haute Death Shoot Pardon moi for the lack of updates recently, tis been hard to find a moment to post something. One thing I have been doing is helping out in directing a behind the scenes video for a Fashion brand's look book. In preparation for the shoot I was skimming the webs for some inspiration and came across a rare treat in the shape of SHOWstudio's Nick Knight's real time coverage of shooting model Karlie Kloss for W Magazine. The shoot had a super big production value, with amazing couture, hair, make up and a lot of post shoot digital imaging. What makes this video different is that it is 8 hours long! It does not edit what happens into 3 minute video backed by a cool up tempo beat, it shows what is really in store on a long shoot day. A lot of waiting around is involved, and though the shoot I was on was no way near as flamboyant I did get a bit bored in bits. Haha, it shows it is not a glamorous as it may sound. Here is the video of Day one below (I flipped throughout to find the most interesting bits.) And a picture from the shoot!
