However back to the recent collection. Again not straying too far from his well known leanings to the world traveler his exotic prints and colours in this collection is the dream wardrobe of the sophisticated adventurer. The offerings range from cold shoulder, flowing dresses. Layered sheer long shirts over slouchy silk trousers. Topped off with long line jacquard jackets and low platform fur lined shoes. I just love how cool the girls look, but in a way that is effortless and inspirational. So with all that and my current desire I would like to ask the genie in bottle to grant me all these clothes please...and to add 6 inches on height so I can pull it off. Cheers.
Photo source Another season another Dries Van Noten review/write up/general lovefest. Paris Fashion Week was the stage to showcase DVN's new SS15 RTW collection. Fresh from my recent Paris trip where I went to the Musée des Arts Décoratifs to see his Exhibition of his inspirations, I was reminded why I adored his style and aesthetic so much. It was a multi media collection at the Exhibition too with not only pieces of his work on display but lots of photos, runway videos and even videos of the intricate processes he incorporates with embroidery and beading. I could of stayed there for hours. However back to the recent collection. Here is a nice video with the main man himself.

Photos via Kinfolk Magazine by We are the Rhoads on Instagram I follow a variation of accounts. Bar my friends and family I follow the life snaps of Footballers, Models, Designers; even a bunch of cool Mums. Two accounts I had stumbled on and started following were of a couple and their kids. Just typing that sounds a little creepo but with the thousands of other followers it's safe to say there is just something that resonates with many to do the same. The family in mind are of John Moore and Hannah Henderson; and their two kids. John has a design studio and Hannah has a store of curated goods called the General Store. So, I have been following their accounts a while and the reason why I'm blogging about them is that my boy man Chris was working with a filming crew from the states recently and the main DP on it happened to be the cinematographer on a piece on the family for Kinfolk Magazine. Kinfolk is a media lifestyle phenomenon where they have content over print, digital and events; inspiring homemade, and crafty lifestyles for the hip crowd. This video sums it all up basically. Beautiful people, homes, fashion; food! It's all there. I am not going to lie and say i'm not slightly envious as it all looks pretty perfect; however I am not silly to think this is everyday reality. It's still gorge though...watch the video and tell me if the Dad skating with the long haired boy is not the cutest thing. Why not peek the whole photo essay on the family at Kinfolk'swebsite.
Here I am, at the Golden hour of my friend's wedding. It was held is a pretty barn house, and there were even horses behind me when this pic was taken; taken by the fittie head of PINYATA. This was the first time I wore this dress, it was on sale at ASOS for £12 or something like that. It made me feel sophisticated; and boho seeing as I don't have dresses this length and print really. It wasn't a real maxi but cut just above my ankles which I adored as I didn't feel swamped. I loved the cold shoulder cuts too. It ended up being the perfect dress for the turn of a cold season. My shoes have this really cool mirror reflective heel which you can't see too much of; it is a quirky effect but scratches easily so not ideal. I may need to paint over them in the future. Lastly my hair flowers were actually from an artificial potted plant from good old IKEA! The link for the actual ones I am wearing are below.
So this wedding, was my last one as a guest before my own! Less than 2 months to go! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP! |
