All images: Sebastian Kim I know this may seem counter intuitive, you know posting pics up of a tanned beautiful woman (Crystal Renn, Goddess) parading about it cute swimmers WHEN the weather you currently experience is gale force winds and zero degree temps as I am; BUT I just love this shoot. I love that it feature Miss Renn who I think is one of the most gorgeous women on this planet and I like the colours and the styling. Just look at those eyebrows! I stumbled upon this shoot when looking at the work of photographer Sebastian Kim, it's like, 2 years old but I think it is still relevant. It has also made me get my butt into gear and apply for my new passport so I can book a holiday where the sun shines and I too can wear a cool swim suit.

Balloon source Pinky perky plumpy pout. I have given the red lips a semi vacation and have been going spending mad on some pink lip colours. I forgot how pretty and cool a pink lip can be and how versatile too. From super bubblegum bold to frosty pink you can wear a pink lip as a statement look with a monochrome outfit or subtly while donning nudes and beige tones. The high street have been treating me well in the make up department with Rimmel, Barry M and Topshop offering some really cool shades and textures. I usually opt for a matt lip when wearing something bold and sheer when it's a lighter shade. Ladies, are you rocking the pink lips too? If so what brands do you suggest?
Photo: Here I am pretty frustrated at the moment. Still on the end curve of my flu, still housing a cough which won't shift, I do not feel 100% healthy and it's affecting me mentally too. I think my downtime recovering has got me thinking about other things too, you know the usual: Career. Money. Relationships...etc...blah...weep. Even finding some content to blog about has been a painful process these days. I Blog out of what I love and want to share but I have not been connecting with anything the web has to offer or have been making anything to post. I think that is the thing, I have not made anything for a while, no shoots to produce or style, no hairstyles to pin and crimp, no materials sewn into skirts, it's a swamp of shlump...gosh, how depressing. Hope this rut/block ends soon
Adore Adore Adore. This shoot for L'Officiel Nehterlands is my kind of shoot. I love the kind of shoots that incorporate fashion and global cultures. Brazilian babe Lais Ribeiro looks, elegant, sophisticated and fresh as she dons 2013 S/S's White and Brights again in Brazil. How amazing does this convey a tropical and exotic feeling but without mounds of colour that is usually associated with tropical locations. How refreshing! All Images via FGR
Images by The Bamboo District 2013 First Step by Step of 2013!!! To add to the Fun Bun and the Fake Fringe I now present to you...The Faux Bob. This is a step by step for those with longish hair, and who may occasionally want short hair. As of four years ago I had short hair, it varied from shoulder length to pixie and even an under cut using a number 6 clipper. I was adamant that I would never have long hair again as it would not suit me...now the tables have turned and I can't think there will be a time soon where I will go through the chop. However, there is a chicness of shorter hair that you do not get with long hair so that's why this fakey is great. Follow the stages below, it may seem a little tricky but with practice you will be an expert in no time.
1) Hello girl with long hair that you want to make short. 2) Hello girl who sectioned her hair in half horizonally, from the top of the left ear to the top of the right year and then tying the top section up to get it out of the way. 3) Hello girl who french braided across the bottom section of the hair and pinned the tail in with U pins against the head as this creates a little woven grid element that will make it easier in the future 'tucking' part of the tutorial. 4) Hello girl who has loosened the top section of the hair, brushed it and tied a hair band at a length a couple of inches below her shoulder. 5) Hello girl who has now braided the bottom end of the ponytail. 6) Hello girl who will now do the tricky part of tucking in the braided pony under the main body of hair, pressing it against the woven grid and then using U pins to secure it in place. 7) Viola! Hello girl with a FAUX BOB! DONE. Christmas Parties, Regular parties and weddings...tis was the final blow out a la December! Benjart World x W Hotel Party Work Office Party. Langham Style. Hillsong Church Carols @ Wembley CHRISTMAS!!! Presents, Meals and SALES!!! Bridal hair by me! #BurtonWedding
Photo source: Couple Happy New Year to all of you who read or stumble across my blog! Wishing you all had a lovely Christmas and a not too messy New Years eve. Here I am, back to my normal timetable...reality has set in big time. I have enjoyed the lie ins, the copious food stuffage and the social merriment usually attached to the end of the year but I have a simmering excitement for this New Year! Dear 2013...I have some expectations of you, are you ready for me?
I have not made lists of resolutions, as with all novelties they do fade but what I have thought about is the hopes that I have. As the photo above suggests I have decided upon adventure and romance. Adventure in the common sense of exploring terrain that I have not seen before but in daily life too, taking steps towards things not fully guaranteed in outcome but enjoying the journey and allowing destinations to be presented to me as I move forward. Romance, not just in my own relationship but seeing it in others too. I read a definition of romance being the inclination of the feelings of excitement and mystery of love. I believe that can adapted to any relationship you have that has love. Love of your partner, siblings, friends....excitement of the times you spend together and the mystery of themselves that will slowly be unveiled the more you want to know more and more about them and the mystery of the places you will find yourself with them. Always believe that there is more depth to the people around you, I believe that will make us approach others differently. However, Romance in the classic sense is important too. For me not to just receive romantic gestures but to give it more. I want to encourage friends and family to embrace it, seek it and want it. Not to be scared of the uncertainty of love but revel in the mystery. Admit you want it. Take chances you thought you would never take, take chances on people that might surprise you and enjoy the moment. I could reel other professional, career, health and financial goals but those things are standard and not just for January revelations however with my hopes in tow I believe this year is going to be rich in so many good things. And I can't wait to share them when they happen. |
