Photo:Kang Hye-Won for Vogue Korea 2013 I keep mentioning my upcoming travels, and though NYC is over and I'm writing this from London we still have the Asian and European legs to look forward to. Hoorah! One place on the itinerary is SEOUL and I am so freaking excited! Not only do some of my dearest friends hail from there (some real good peoples) and their food is drool worthy (bibimbap, anyone?) their style/fashion is so on point it hurts. I've posted content from Vogue Girl Korea before, also posted about their street style and recently started following this cool (south/republic of )Korean Style Insta called GarbageLapsap; so as you can see, the love affair is real. Therefore I was extremely happy to find this absolutely GORGEOUS editorial in Vogue Korea from 2013 from Ogh Sang-Sun. The stars of the shoot definitely have to be the modern styling and the beautiful Hanboks. The edgy and quirky accessorising adorning the traditional threads of many colours, all to the background of this great location is truly breathtaking. Apart from the name of the photographer my research has left me a little stumped as to who the additional team were (being written in Korean and all) but I really want to credit & acknowledge them so if you happen to know, please send me the info. The title image is from a separate editorial by Kang Hye-won, again for Vogue Korea which you can see here.
Photos via Kinfolk Magazine by We are the Rhoads on Instagram I follow a variation of accounts. Bar my friends and family I follow the life snaps of Footballers, Models, Designers; even a bunch of cool Mums. Two accounts I had stumbled on and started following were of a couple and their kids. Just typing that sounds a little creepo but with the thousands of other followers it's safe to say there is just something that resonates with many to do the same. The family in mind are of John Moore and Hannah Henderson; and their two kids. John has a design studio and Hannah has a store of curated goods called the General Store. So, I have been following their accounts a while and the reason why I'm blogging about them is that my boy man Chris was working with a filming crew from the states recently and the main DP on it happened to be the cinematographer on a piece on the family for Kinfolk Magazine. Kinfolk is a media lifestyle phenomenon where they have content over print, digital and events; inspiring homemade, and crafty lifestyles for the hip crowd. This video sums it all up basically. Beautiful people, homes, fashion; food! It's all there. I am not going to lie and say i'm not slightly envious as it all looks pretty perfect; however I am not silly to think this is everyday reality. It's still gorge though...watch the video and tell me if the Dad skating with the long haired boy is not the cutest thing. Why not peek the whole photo essay on the family at Kinfolk'swebsite.
Do you guys likeID Magazine? We get the magazine free at work and I flick through it but I do not ingest it religiously like other magazines. However, what I have recently discovered is how wonderful their online home is. The content is diverse and extensive covering all the modern lifestyle fashion and arts sectors; and what I personally love is their video archive of different shorts ranging from interviews, behind the scenes and ID specifically created content like this series: Model Mother Tongue. The video edit is quirky, humorous and stylish featuring different models teaching phrases from their homelands! Obvi I love Liu Wen so I have added her's below to get an insight to some Mandarin mouthfuls. Included in the series is Russian, Danish and even AUSSIE, haha. Their More than a model series is cool too, you should peek! All content from ID
Photos by Mariano Vivanco for Vogue Brazil via Instagram I'm so gassed. I love love love this editorial in Vogue Brazil of Rihanna by Mariano Vivanco. These images were posted on Ri Ri's instagram and I couldn't wait until they posted it on sites like FGR for me to repost it here. The setting, the colouring, the styling and the star! This is a killer combination or her cool with the energy of Brazil. This story was styled by Yamsin Esterea the fashion editor of Vogue Brazil, and she killed it with the metallics and earthy hues of the outfits. With Brazil being centre stage for the next two years with the upcoming World Cup and Olympics, this shoot is also a reminder of what a fashion power country Brazil is. Hopefully they will post her spread and editorial in English for us to read too but if not then these sizzling images are more than enough! Gassssssssed!
All photos by Mariano Vivanco for Vogue Russia via FGR "The Heart of the Mountains" is the name of this luscious editorial for Vogue Russia. Set against the beautiful Peruvian backdrop and among locals donned in traditional attire, model Catherine McNeil showcases many of springs new bold colour offerings. Feather accessories and woven textures merge nicely with the traditional Peruvian looks. I want to visit her so much, another one to add to the list!
