Off to my third wedding within two months tomorrow and am looking at ways to make my outfits look LESS pretty. For some reason this season I have been erring toward the Prom, vintage cuts in pastel colours. I wore a really pretty pink dress from Oasis last week and went for the 'sweet' Stepford look with white pointed pumps, a knitted white cardigan and low bun. My make up was super simple and I think the only jewelry I had on were a pair of cute stud earrings. The setting was a beautiful Manor House in Aylesbury where there were swans!!!! ... ... However tomorrow's wedding will be in the city and will be among a large number of my friends so decided to quirk it up this round. I am still undecided between a Metallic Lilac dress from Oasis I got from the sales or this yellow Prom style my sister got for me at a sample sale, £4 Haaaay! The two are very cute indeed but need edging out a bit, so here are my suggestions in doing so! So here are a few ideas. Red lips are always considered a statement, they are just so bold and makes your lips POP. Why not throw over a cool denim oversized Wrangler style jacket over your dress or something even edgier...a leather biker jacket. Finally, accessories do not get more out there than a giant hair bow, this is the modern girls dress hat so it doesn't matter if it might block someones view. The mother of the bride and aunties will be doing the same. I think it will be a matter of choosing two ideas max out of the three if you were going to try them. It may be a little OTT with them all, but hey, that might be your schtick. I will let you know how I get along and what I went with in the end...if any! All photos found via Pinterest.

Hej! The one month countdown until my Stockholm trip is in full effect as of yesterday. I AM SO EXCITED! This year I have not planned a long two week holiday, which usually comprises of a Beach and cocktails at some point so this break will be the biggie of 2013. I had some time off work last week, attending and helping out with the decor of an event at Church, including this photobooth! (Yup, that's me posing on the bottom, lol). Those industrial collages took a while and I had to enlist my Pop to help me in doing so I discovered he has a good creative eye and is a perfectionist too! So with any good countdown towards a trip the usual 'what will I wear?' question pops up. When I travel I love to dress in line with the location. If I visit the English countryside my wellie boots and chunky knit jumpers are shoved in my bag, in the Philippines I love bright colours and native batik prints and therefore I'm keen to get in some Stockholm styling. As I trawled the web I came across this fantastic site Carolinesmode.com that has a Stockholm street style section. The ladies of Stockholm are very chic, a lot of black, leather and sporty accents are being worn. The lines are very clean, it is very laid back in a very put together, luxurious way. Stockholm style to me is the grown up version of the fashion kid. You can tell thought has been put in toward an outfit but it is not garish and still undoubtedly stylish. So, I guess it's time to start hunting down all my black clothes and trainers! all photos via carolinesmode.com
All of these fantastic images are by Ali Graham, find more of Jay's problems here. So this little hip-hop and illustration appreciator got super excited when she saw a link of her Facebook feed to this internet pot of gold! Have you ever wondered what Rapper Jay-Z's 99 problems were knowing that 'the bitch aint one'? Well wonder no more as illustrator Ali Graham shows us in these series of images depicting the struggles Mr Carter may face in his daily life. Whether everyday woes like granny friend requests to some obvious #richboyproblems like his Rolex being broken, to even existential conundrums like not being able to bring the future back in time! He is facing it all. These are so clever and looks amazing, I am so impressed. To keep up to date with these happenings follow Ali's tumblr 99 Problems!
My sister showed me this video this weekend and it made me feel spooked but also I laughed so hard! I mean...this is so brutal, just for garms! Mind you, if I went there and some cheeky moo nabbed things from my pile, then...who knows! eeeeek. What do think it??
Yup, last Saturday I sprained my ankle in the park! It was me vs a divet! I was home bound until Tuesday, then hobbling around London with a crutch until weds and since then I have been bandaged up limping all around the place. Lessons learned, I need to watch where I am going. While at work I have been looking a lot at Pinterest for a potential office refurb, and came across this lovely print. Not only does it look great but it is pretty true and something I have been making every effort to do. Not only have I been working on this office switch around but have been getting to use my graphic skills with some other projects within the company which has been ace! In less than two weeks the Hillsong Velocity Big Weekend is coming up in Hackney. It is an event for the 25+ Community at my Church, and this year will be held at The Hangar. I have been tasked with decorating some of the space and the theme is Industrial, and have been saturated with visuals of this nature. It is now safe to say that I am rolling in Big girl bucks I want to live in a warehouse and fill my living space with reclaimed items. Hopefully the space looks nice on the night, I will post pics when the event is over. Though the date is not set I might be doing a shoot project soon so been prepping some images for inspiration. It is quite interesting how certain people lean towards different styles of shooting. From my Pin boards it becomes apparent that my curated imagery all sort of exude a certain, girlishness, sexiness and quirk to them. I love location shoots where the settings are just as fabulous as the model and clothing. As mentioned in an old post, the ASOS Magazine cover shoots are my favourite of all!
