I said I was going to post more summery outfits and what can be more summery than a shorts and top print combo! In this photo I am in Spain so happy that I can wear these separates together. I wear the top all the time with jeans in all seasons and getting to don the shorts on holiday made me love the top again in a different way as it is a whole new look. This little number is from the Philippines, where we just where them like house lounge wear. I had bought many items like this in 2012 to sell on, I sold a few pairs of shorts and dresses but summer didn't really hit off that year and people weren't really interested in the sets. I started wearing some of them myself which was cool as I loved the look and would of bought them if another high street retailer sold them so thought it was a no brainer to just keep them. However now in 2014 it is all about Print SETS! I was a year too early it seemed, haha. However though my collection was limited to shorts and tops places like Topshop and ASOS have a variety of cropped tops, with trousers, shorts and skirts of all lengths which is great. Print is my thing, and when fashion decides it is only for hippies and safari goers again I will ignore them all and still dress like the little island girl I am. :) Are you off on holibobs soon? Have a look at some cool threads that are out at the moment...and a look at my sister too in the middle, coz she is a babe.

Photos by Alexander Neumann via FGR What I love about Latin based destination Fashion Editorials is that the styles in the hair and beauty department are either one of two of my desired looks. Either boho messy or super chic sophisticated. This shoot for Russian Bazaar is SoooooPHISTICATION to a tee. The sleek hair with side parting is the epitome of class, and is perfectly paired with the nude make up on Chanel Iman's gorgeous face. The styling too is divine with black lace, rainbow coloured mini dresses and floral Maxis from the spring-summer collections of Elie Saab, Prada,Valentino to mention a few. Ugh, I WANT!
Check out this cool video for Nasty Gal clothing by Tracy Antonopoulos and Asli Baykal. I love the clothes, the vibe and the accents. Go Brits! Have you guys seen Drop Dead Gorgeous with Kirsten Dunst? It kind or reminds me of that, but more ambient. I love cool girl vids!!! Would love to be involved in Art Directing something like this in the future.
Today in London Town the sun is shining and giving me some good vibes all over! In this spirit of optimism I will post my last wintery looking outfit, and willing for Spring vibes to dictate my future Wardrobe posts for the next few months. This look is Street Geek Chic. Street from the Primark leopard print cap, Geek from the Todds patent loafers I was given and Chic for this gold sweater that I got from Pimkie Paris. Annoyingly when buying this sweater I got a little lost in translation as there was a big red tag that had some french words but -50% too, so I thought SWEET! Bargain. When I got to the counter it was full price but I was shy to say anything, haha. Apparently the tag said buy one get second 50% off, eck. It's become a fave of mine so I guess it was worth it in the end! Grab the look from these places below! 1. Black MOM Jeans-Topshop. 2. Leopard Print cap- American Apparel. 3. Patent Loafers-ASOS. 4. Quilted Sweater-ASOS
Photo: Nicole & other model babe "Do you know any Petite Blogs?" My Sister emailed me recently. I didn't actually; I mean ask me if I know about long haired brunette blogs or plus size/Straight size blogs then I could help you there, but blogs for us shorties? nah. This is quite weird as I love personal style blogs and follow the ones that are like myself now or the myself I want to be in the future (this is apparent in the amount of cool Mom instagrams I peak!). I am 5"3, wear petite Topshop jeans and have to take up all maxi dresses I buy, so I definitely fit this Petite vibe. After this question I did a quick search on the ol' Google and Bloglovin and came across some fantastic, amazingly produced/curated sites for and of petite stylistas. Here are my picks:
I found this fun round up on Style Caster of their Short Stars too. Enjoy!
If you like me were born in the late 80s then your impressionable childhood years were infiltrated by such bubble gum bands like this! It is only now, in my late twenties I can look back and appreciate the awesomeness, not only for Irish Pop songstresses but for double denim. Double denim actually has been making all sorts of fashionable revivals for the past years, leaning toward being something quite chic and not just reserved for you Country Music loving Uncle. One time I even sported triple denim...but I think that was a little OTT, even for me. My outfit above was worn when having a nice weekend walking around London, taking in an Art exhibition, brunching with friends and all that other good stuff. As it was getting warmer after months of Siberian chill my awesome denim bomber came out of hiding, this jacket I picked up in a second hand store in Williamsburg in 07'. It's the best! I paired them with some jeans, the closest to the shade of the jacket as possible; and also worn with my nice cropped H&M jumper which they are selling lots of currently in different colours. Even though they don't really match I wore my chunky gold coin earrings that remind me of the cool accessories in the Dolce and Gabanna collections, I am trying to incorporate this sort of vibe with my bridesmaids later this year. I also draped my Asos Fur collar on but I can remember it kept flying off in the wind, and was actually pretty annoying, haha.
Here are some pieces below if you wanna recreate the look! Photos by Mariano Vivanco for Vogue Brazil via Instagram I'm so gassed. I love love love this editorial in Vogue Brazil of Rihanna by Mariano Vivanco. These images were posted on Ri Ri's instagram and I couldn't wait until they posted it on sites like FGR for me to repost it here. The setting, the colouring, the styling and the star! This is a killer combination or her cool with the energy of Brazil. This story was styled by Yamsin Esterea the fashion editor of Vogue Brazil, and she killed it with the metallics and earthy hues of the outfits. With Brazil being centre stage for the next two years with the upcoming World Cup and Olympics, this shoot is also a reminder of what a fashion power country Brazil is. Hopefully they will post her spread and editorial in English for us to read too but if not then these sizzling images are more than enough! Gassssssssed!
Photos via Suitsmysoul Instagram I follow a page on Instagram called SuitsmySoul which is by pro surfer Bo Stanley and Plus size Model Katie Willcox of Healthy is the new skinny. HNS is something I have been following for a while and is a site that has content centered on body acceptance, which is a big thing for young ladies! This page is cool as the girls (who are not the usual model thin) showcase some awesome accessible swimwear and link to wear you can buy them. Which is refreshing both on the image front and also on the wallet front. They feature suits for all sizes whether you are bigger, smaller or middleler. Summer is upon us soon and I for one am on the search for some awesome new swimwear, I even have a pinboard for swimmies so I can start buying a few over the year. In October I will be living in the things...can you say Mexico!!! Nearly 6 month to go until the wedding...eeeep! :)
All photos via Saint Heron Sozzles for the lack of posts recently. I have just come back from Madrid and Extremadura which are both stunning places, I will work on my photos to post up soon. I found that leading up to the trip I was super busy with work and other bits and bobs too. So to tie you over here is a stunning collection of photos of Solange by Seji Fujimori. I am adoring this Japanese styling. Long live Solange, she's the Queen of cool to me!
Outfit overview time! Today's offering is what I call The 50s Jock's International Girlfriend! Hair pulled back, fringe nice and brushed then secured tightly with a nice floppy bow made me fee like I was back in 2004 when I was a pink lady in my school musical of Grease. This was cemented by wearing my Fiance's old Carhartt Varsity Jacket that shrunk in the wash so was handed down to me, and my short ankle grazing slacks. The international girlfriend part is served by my favourite trousers of the moment that I copped at the Zara winter sale, they have this awesome print that would fit easily in a throwback The Bamboo District photo shoot. I also opted for some print clashing with my Cold shoulder plaid shirt that I posted up a while back of how to make your own. The coat is my same old coat I wear all the time as it is COLD out there. I am looking forward to my future summer Outfit overviews, ugh, can't wait. Here are some key pieces below if you wanna get the look! 1. Cold Shoulder Plaid Shirt-Boohoo, 2. Hair Bow-Claire's Accessories, 3. Print Slacks- Zara, 4. Baseball Varsity Jacket-Burton
